2. Data we process

Pins set to “public” are visible to all users, “friends” to your friends, “private” only to you. Think before you publish a precise location.

We use no advertising or analytics cookies. Change your choice any time with “Cookie settings”.
4. Third parties and transfers
Your browser contacts these services, which therefore receive your IP address:
- Required for the map: CARTO (basemap tiles). The map library and icons are served from our own domain.
- Optional, only after you allow “External services”: Google Maps JavaScript API and Places (place search), jsDelivr (OCR library for label scan; scanning itself runs on your device).
- Sign in with Google, only if you choose it.
- Hosting and email delivery: Contabo GmbH (Germany) hosts the server. Emails (password codes, support) are sent from our own mail server on that VPS, with no separate email provider.
Where data leaves the EEA we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
5. Retention
Account data and content stay until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Support messages: 12 months after the ticket is closed. Server logs: 30 days.
6. Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. You may withdraw consent at any time. Email support@beermap.be; we answer within one month. Username, email and password can be changed in Settings.
You may complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be.
7. Age
beermap is for people of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly process data of minors. Contact us to have such data removed.
8. Changes
We will update this page and its date when practice changes.
